武汉大学数学与统计学院王涛副教授与俄罗斯科学院Sobolev数学研究所Yuri Trakhinin教授合作研究了理想可压缩磁流体力学中的自由边界问题。他们首次建立了不带表面张力且在边界上总压力为零的情形下的局部适定性[1]，首次证明了带表面张力的情形下的局
部适定性[2]。王涛副教授主要研究流体力学中的偏微分方程。
