On October 22nd, 2021, the kick-off meeting of Medical Mathematics Research Center of Sino-Russian Mathematics Center was held at Peking University. Zhang Jiping, director of Sino-Russian Mathematics Center, academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, professor of Peking University, Zhang Ning, deputy director of Medical Department and professor of the First Hospital, Professor Zhou Xiaohua of Beijing International Center for Mathematics Research, Professor Chen Songxi of School of Mathematical Sciences, director of Statistical Science Center and Professor Yao Fang of School of Mathematical Sciences attended the kick-off meeting. The meeting was presided over by Professor Chen Dayue, dean of the School of Mathematical Sciences of Peking University and deputy director of Sino-Russian Mathematics Center.

Zhang Jiping said that Sino-Russian Mathematics Center will strongly support the construction of Medical Mathematics Research Center. We hope that everyone will work together to seek innovation, produce leading research results, and vigorously promote the development of mathematics and medicine in the world.

As the head of Medical Mathematics Research Center, Professor Zhou Xiaohua reported the background significance, research content, method innovation and work foundation of the construction and development of Medical Mathematics Research Center. It is expected to propose and verify mathematical models based on medical problems and form new statistical methods and theories for precision medicine; In terms of medicine, focus on liver cancer, leukemia and kidney cancer to form a breakthrough in accurate medical diagnosis and treatment.
