On September 29th, 2021, the symposium on mathematical mechanics in the development of large aircraft and aeroengine and the launching ceremony of Nanchang Class-A base of Sino-Russian Mathematics Center were successfully held in Nanchang. Zhang Jiping, director of Sino-Russian Mathematics Center and academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Ye Xiangdong, deputy director of Sino-Russian Mathematics Center and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Wei Yueguang, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Cao Banhao, chief inspector of Jiangxi Provincial Department of Education, Wang Wanzheng, member of the Standing Committee of Nanchang municipal Party committee and vice mayor, Duan Huiling, dean of School of Engineering of Peking University, president of Nanchang Innovation Research Institute of Peking University, and other relevant leaders, experts and scholars attended the meeting.

In his welcome speech, Wang Wanzheng, member of the Standing Committee of Nanchang municipal Party committee and vice mayor of Nanchang, said that the Class-A base of Sino-Russian Mathematics Center in Nanchang is another achievement of cooperation between Nanchang and Peking University. It is hoped that the base will give full play to the scientific research and talent advantages of Peking University, combine Nanchang's strong aviation industry foundation, deeply connect and cooperate with each other, accelerate the R & D achievements of Peking University to take root and blossom in Nanchang, and jointly build Nanchang Innovation Research Institute of Peking University into a high-level new R & D institution with a leading role.

Academician Zhang Jiping said in his speech that the mission of Sino-Russian Mathematics Center is to cultivate a new generation of young outstanding talents with the goal of first-class theoretical and application achievements. It is hoped that Nanchang Innovation Research Institute of Peking University and the Nanchang Class-A base platform of Sino-Russian Mathematics Center can make full use of the characteristic advantages of Nanchang aviation industry, further deepen the cooperation between academia and industry, provide a better environment and platform for young talents in the field of mathematics and mechanics, accelerate the implementation of more national projects and vigorously promote the breakthrough of basic theoretical research, serve major strategic needs of the country.
