On 31st May, the kick-off meeting of "Sino-Russian Mathematics Center - Chengdu Base" constructed by Sichuan University was held at the international cooperation and exchange center of Sichuan University. Li Yanrong, President of Sichuan University, Academician Zhang Jiping, director of Sino-Russian Mathematics Center, professor of Peking University, Academician Ye Xiangdong, deputy director of the center, professor of University of Science and Technology of China, Academician Zheng Xiaojing, professor of Xidian University, Professor Chen Dayue, Professor Fan Huijun, Academician Li Anmin, director of the academic committee of Sino-Russian Mathematics Center - Chengdu Base, and experts and scholars from Peking University, Moscow Center of Fundamental and Applied Mathematics and other well-known Chinese and Russian universities and research institutions attended the kick-off meeting. The meeting was presided over by Wang Baofu, dean of School of Mathematics of Sichuan University.

President Li Yanrong, Academician Zhang Jiping, Academician Li Anmin, and Professor Zhang Weinian, executive director of the base, delivered speeches respectively at the meeting and jointly unveiled the base.
